Like every project leading up to now, this one has become one of my favorites to be involved in. In January 2018 when I accepted the job as a UX/UI designer for Jump, it was mentioned that one day in the far future of this tiny startup, that we would build a mobile app, but for the time being, my role would focus solely on the desktop app (which of course was still very exciting to me). But the thought of one day designing a mobile app that would eventually be in the Apple and Android app stores always lingered in my mind. Most UX/UI designers would agree that that would be a dream!

Only 10 months after that conversation regarding the future of JUMP’s app, the time came. We were ready to go mobile.

Overview

Jump is a platform for small business that improves your online reputation through meaningful customer engagement. Key features in doing that are scheduled social media posting, review generation, data management, social interaction, review monitoring, web analytics, and directory publishing.

In mid-October, I was tasked to design a mobile app that would be app store ready by January 1, 2019. This meant I had approximately 6 weeks to go from nothing to a fully designed- ready for dev hand-off app (in order for the dev team to also have about 6 weeks to build). No sweat! :)

Lucky for me, we already had a foundation: our desktop app, so my real task was reconfiguring the UI and the UX to fit a mobile model.
